A planned approach to recovery
Repossession can expose the lender, customer, agent and asset to unnecessary risk if authority and logistics are not clear. Before attendance, we review the written authority, asset details, location information, client priorities, safety considerations and arrangements for transport or storage.
Where the instructions permit it, an agent may first seek payment, a workable response or voluntary surrender. The precise approach depends on the client’s lawful authority and agreed brief. We do not promise a recovery where the asset cannot be located, access is unsafe or the circumstances require further legal direction.
Instructions we may assist with
- Motor vehicle and equipment recovery
- Voluntary surrender arrangements
- Asset-location field enquiries
- Condition observations and photographs
- Key collection and handover coordination
- Transport, towing or storage coordination where agreed
- Mortgagee-possession support under a separate brief
Information required before attendance
Provide the written authority to act, finance or account reference, debtor or customer details, current addresses and contacts, complete asset description, registration or serial details, photographs if available, known security interests, location intelligence and all safety information. Confirm the permitted outcome, whether payment discussions are authorised and who can approve changes during the attendance.
Reporting and handover
We provide timely updates and a factual outcome report. When an asset is recovered, the report can include its apparent condition, location, keys received and photographs where practicable. Transport, storage, locksmiths and other third-party costs are confirmed as part of the quote or separately authorised before they are incurred.
