Frequently asked questions
Before you send an instruction.
Clear information at the start gives the agent the best chance of completing your matter quickly and correctly.
How many attempts are included?
Standard metropolitan process service includes up to three attempts at the instructed address. Attempts are made at appropriate times based on the information supplied. If further attendances or another address are needed, we will seek instructions and confirm any additional fee first.
Can you arrange urgent or after-hours service?
Yes, subject to agent availability. Same-day and next-day matters attract the urgent-service surcharge shown in the pricing table. Tell us the exact deadline, hearing date and any preferred attendance window when sending the documents.
What affidavit will I receive?
When service succeeds, we prepare the applicable affidavit of service recording how, when and where service occurred. If service is unsuccessful, an affidavit of attempted service can record the attendances and relevant observations. Court-specific requirements may affect the form used.
What happens if the person cannot be served?
You receive updates after each attempt and a final account of the work completed. We may recommend another attendance, a different address, skip tracing or a field enquiry. An affidavit of attempted service can assist your solicitor or the court when considering the next procedural step.
What information should I provide?
Send every document to be served, the person’s full name, current and previous addresses, phone numbers, workplace, vehicle details, physical description, recent photograph, likely attendance times, known risks and the court deadline. Also include your name, organisation, phone number, email and billing details.
Do I need to provide a photograph?
A photograph is strongly recommended where identity may be disputed. It can help the process server recognise the correct person and may be annexed to an affidavit in some family law matters.
Do you cover locations outside Perth?
Yes. We travel regionally as far as Northam, Bunbury and Two Rocks, with an additional $1.70/km charge based on the one-way distance from Perth CBD. National and international service is arranged through our network and quoted case by case.
When do I receive the completed affidavit?
The completed affidavit is returned after the file closes and payment requirements have been met. Approved account clients may operate under agreed billing terms. Tell us if original documents or court filing are required.
